Significant differences in the electrochemical behavior of the [alpha]-, [beta]-, [gamma]- and [delta]-tocopherols (vitamin E)
Article Abstract:
Study was conducted on vitamin E tocopherols [alpha], [beta], [gamma] and [delta]. It was found that [alpha]-tocopherol had unique functions as compared to those of other tocopherols, which cannot be explained by their proposed antioxidant properties and [alpha]-tocopherol was the only tocopherol forming a highly stable phenoxonium cation following electrochemical oxidation.

Photochemical and electrochemical oxidation reactions of surface-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
Article Abstract:
The oxidation reactions of two polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), pyrene and anthracene, attached covalently to silica, indium-doped tin oxide (ITO), and gold surfaces are discussed. Cyclic voltammetry and steady-state excitation and emission spectroscopy is used to identify the products of the products of the surface reactions.

Deep-UV laser-based fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy of single molecules
Article Abstract:
Deep ultraviolet (deep-UV) laser0-based fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy of single dye molecules adsorbed on quartz glass surfaces is presented. The described setup is also well suited for biological applications for ultra sensitive detection of intrinsic fluorescence after UV excitation.
